They were told it couldn’t be done. Well, it could and we did it. Last month we finished installing a new Wi-Fi network at a 4 Star hotel in Windsor. As it is a large site with numerous buildings, grounds and guest areas, multiple 5GHz point-to-point links were used between the main hotel and some of the other buildings to provide the required Wi-Fi coverage. Each building had a number of Ruckus wireless access points installed, providing coverage throughout the entire hotel grounds.
The new Wi-Fi allows the hotel to use their hand-held POS terminals for food and beverage ordering on the terrace and barbecue areas, as well as guest Internet access throughout the hotel and grounds. In addition, Hotel conferences can have their own Wi-Fi SSID if desired, with Hotality able to guarantee the Internet bandwidth on-demand to each individual conference SSID.
