Due to our continued success in the hospitality and education sectors we are recruiting for another 2nd-Line Technical IT Engineer, based at our Basingstoke head office.  This will be our fourth new hire in 6 months.

 

Your duties would include:

  • Support – to take support calls from our customers in accordance with the prevailing escalation and resolution procedures in our Helpdesk system. To monitor and remediate customer backups. Perform duties as needed to ensure continued PCI-DSS compliance for customers.
  • Project work – installing and implementing computer solutions and services to any UK location, but predominately in the south of England.
  • Documentation – producing customer documentation as required.
  • Customer and supplier management – liaising with customers and suppliers, escalating issues as appropriate.

 

The role entails working between 09:00-18:00 weekdays, as well as being on a weekly on-call rota shared between the other engineers one week in six.

 

You must hold a valid UK driving license since travel may be required to any of our customers across the UK. If you have previous experience of providing IT support and services to the hospitality and education sectors this would be advantageous. Experience of installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows desktops and applications is essential. Knowledge of troubleshooting Windows servers, VMware vSphere, Mitel and 3CX phone systems, and networking would be useful but is by no means essential. The hospitality industry is all about providing good customer service, so any applicant must share this same ethos.

** THIS POSITION IS NOW FILLED **

The expectation is that you would work a normal business day 9.00 – 17.30 with an hour for lunch. Travel expenses at £0.30p per mile if you are using your own vehicle. Other travel such as train or flight expenses will be reimbursed at cost on receipt of expense claim with receipts, with all travel or expenses authorised in advance.

 

You would be expected to come to the office in Basingstoke when required, but the position itself is mainly working from home office. You will be provided with a laptop and a desk phone that can be remotely connected to our PBX, we assume you will be using your own internet connection provided at your cost.

 

You would be expected to update our CRM system in respect of prospects, and add notes in terms of contract renewals, contacts, opportunities etc… All inbound and outbound calls will be logged on our PBX and these logs may be reviewed from time to time.

 

We would pay you up to £33,000 depending on experience. You will be given the role of Business Development Manager. Your task is to create new business opportunities for Hotality IT Solutions with the primary objective to gain more IT Support and recurring revenue contracts with new clients.

 

The Sales process will be assisted by the Managing Director, creating these opportunities and arranging appointments to meet with clients. The expectation is as follows:-

  • Month 1 – Understand the business, work on the business values and the objectives, develop the sales pitch. Month 1 – Weeks 3 and 4 the expectation is to start contacting clients with a view to making appointments.
  • Month 2 – Fully focussed on prospecting directly with clients to create business opportunities, expectation is to make two good qualified appointments in this period that could lead to a support contract.
  • Month 3 – Onwards – Fully focussed on prospecting directly with clients to create business opportunities, expectation is to make four good qualified appointments in this period that could lead to a support contract.

 

A qualified appointment would be an appointment with a decision maker within the prospects business, that has a live opportunity in terms of selling a recurring revenue contract that would close in the next 3 – 6 months from date of appointment.

 

A one off £250 bonus will be payable to you on the commencement of any new business support contract that has a monthly value of over £1,000 pcm, that has been brought on as a result of your new business generation activities. This bonus would be added to your monthly salary that falls immediately after the new clients contract start date.

 

The role will be an initial 3 month trial, but would be expected to continue as long as the above targets and objectives are being met. You would be expected to sign a non-disclosure agreement on acceptance of the position.

Due to our continued success in the hospitality and education sectors we are recruiting for a number of 3rd-Line Technical Engineers, based either at our Basingstoke head office, or field-based in the Midlands.

 

Your duties would include:

 

  • Project work – installing and implementing computer solutions and services to any UK location, but predominately in the south of England.
  • Support – to take support calls from our customers in accordance with the prevailing escalation and resolution procedures in our Helpdesk system. To monitor and remediate customer backups. Perform duties as needed to ensure continued PCI-DSS compliance for customers. 
  • Design – producing analysis, reports and solution designs.
  • Documentation – producing customer documentation as required. 
  • Customer and supplier management – liaising with customers and suppliers, escalating issues as appropriate.

 

Due to the type of clients we support we provide inclusive out of hours IT support cover for critical issues, which you would join on a weekly rota basis. You must hold a valid UK driving license since travel may be required to any UK destination. If you have previous experience of providing IT support and services to the hospitality and education sectors this would be advantageous. Experience of installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows desktop and servers is essential. Knowledge of VMware vSphere, phone systems such as Avaya and 3CX, and networking would be desirable.  The hospitality industry is all about providing good customer service, so any applicant must share the same ethos.  There is a mix of 50% office-based and 50% travel to customers.
